For every craftsperson their shop is where they spend 90% of their time, it becomes a part of them, a part of their personality and design aesthetic is embedded in that space. I have spent the last ten years working towards my current shop, from a small uninsulated poorly lit garage to a larger better insulated but still poorly lit garage to, finally, my current purpose built extremely well insulated and lit shop that is a direct reflection of what I make. It is still small, in terms of a professional space, but it is beautifully designed and built, in collaboration with my good friend Kris Hansen of HansenBuilt.
